stopping by woods ep
rainy tennessee
Stopping By Woods EP, 2019
Written by Graci Phillips
It’s not gonna snow here
But it’ll be cold
I know that it’s not like
The Christmas’s you’ve known
And I know if you could choose
We’d hit the road and go as far north
As 65 could take us
And I know it’d be ideal to be
Wrapped up watching the snow fall
By the lake and I also know
You have the choice
And you choose to be
Stuck in rainy Tennessee with me
Won’t build a snowman
Or sled down the yard
I know that it’s not quite
What you had in mind
And I know if you could choose
We’d ditch these greys and blues
And find somewhere
Silver, white, and gleaming
And I know it’d be ideal to see
Nothing but evergreens
Crowned with seasons greetings
But I also know you have the choice
And you choose to be
Stuck in rainy Tennessee with me
Well I’m counting all my blessings
On these raindrops falling down
And I’ve counted you enough
To fill the oceans up
And I’m under water now
Oh you’re a gift to me
All I need
You’re the star on top of my tree
So thank you for choosing
Rainy Tennessee and me
Have yourself a merry little christmas
Stopping By Woods EP, 2019
Written by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blaine
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
From now on
Our troubles will be out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the Yule-tide gay
From now on
Our troubles will be miles away
Here we are as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more
Through the years we all will be together
If the fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough
And have yourself a merry little Christmas
Have yourself a merry little Christmas now
o come o come Emmanuel
Stopping By Woods EP, 2019
Christmas Hymn
O come, O come Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee O Israel
O come, O rod of Jesse's stem
From every foe deliver them
That trust your mighty power to save
Bring them in victory through the grave
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee O Israel
O come, our dayspring from on high
And cheer us by your drawing nigh
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And death's dark shadow put to flight
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee O Israel
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee O Israel
Shall come to thee O Israel
stopping by woods on a snowy evening
Stopping By Woods EP, 2019
A poem written by Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
